Just when we think hard times have passed, something worse comes up with double the strength to drain us. This is what is happening within the country midst the second wave of the novel virus. Now that it’s a familiar foe we know we can fight it with preparation. But still as a nation we are failing to reduce the cases and positive results. But we can get out of this by being sensitive when it comes to our health. (Blog: The Return of The Pandemic)
What we know till now is that in Pakistan “The country has reported more than 60 daily deaths for the first time since July.” (Source: Dawn). The confirmed cases are more than 4,000. Smart lockdown imposed in 5 areas of Peshawar and AJK positivity rate highest in the country with 14.pc.
Talking about international scenario, countries like Germany, Afghanistan, Turkey and Pakistan are facing the most crucial times. Nationally or globally, most of the countries are competing with the second blow of virus. Experts around the world are warning everyone since both influenza and coronavirus will be squeezing up spaces in hospitals at a faster rate than before.
We all already are aware of the precautionary measures. We all already habitual of wearing a mask. And even if we are not habitual of protection ourselves, some of us still do follow the protocols for the sake of abiding by the rules. But here is what we can do besides actively fighting it.
AGGRESSIVE SELF CONTACT TRACING: We all have heard of prevention being better than treatment. It will never be false that’s for sure. Keep an eye at your end. Avoid social any kind of socializing except when it’s really an urgency to meet someone. If you get to know that the people who are close to you are infected, you should inform all those people who met them in the past few days. If you did, get tested for it as soon as possible.
MEDITATION: Meditation at least takes five minutes. We extend its time as per our need. For a while in the extremely tense environment, you need to stop. Relax and take a deep breathe. Try not to think. You don’t have to force yourself not to think. Just bring your attention back whenever you get distracted. Closing your eyes only for five minutes and thinking nothing will help you to have a clearer version of everything.
E-CONNECTION: Social contact is forbidden. Social distancing is hard when your mental health is on the peak of worsening. We live in this modern era of technology and internet facility almost everywhere. It should not be difficult for us to maintain distance from people and coordinating them with emails, social networking sites and other countless apps of communication.
PRACTICE GRATITUDE AND KINDNESS: In a pandemic it is hard focus on others when you yourself are frightened and anxious. Try making a list of 10 things that you are grateful for, every day. By making a list you will be able to appreciate and cherish what you still have. Also keep an eye at your loved ones. They are all feeling as lost as you are. Try helping them out in the littlest of tasks whether office related or studies.
We are in the last month of this year. It is still not too late to hope for a better future. Only if we try a little. I wish all the blog readers a glad and healthy December.
